Coventry City face Cardiff City on Easter Monday with the home side hoping to force their way into the playoff picture for the second season in a row. Mark Robins Sky Blues have already secured an FA Cup Semi-Final date with Manchester United at Wembley in April but before then have a number of important Chanmpionship games of which this is the next. After winning just three of their first 16 games of the season, they have then won 13 of their next 22, losing just four and drawing five. They lie 7th in the Championship table, four points behind Norwich City in sixth, but with a game in hand. The home side have been beaten just twice at home this season, by Preston and West Brom, but they have drawn as many games as they have won (8) which is why they are not ranked more highly in the table. They have also won all their last three games in the league, four if you include the FA Cup Semi Final win over Wolves.

Cardiff City's run of five games unbeaten, four of which were wins, came to an end in the South Wales derby against Swansea City and then on Good Friday, the Bluebirds were beaten 2-0 at home by Sunderland in what was something of a surprise result given the form of both teams. Those two defeats have effectively ended Cardiff's hopes of challenging for a playoff spot as they now lie 11th in the table on 53 points, 11 behind Norwich City in sixth having played the same number of games. Scoring goals has been an issue for the Welsh side, with 43 goals scored in 39 games the joint lowest of all teams in the top 15 of the Championship this season and just five teams have scored fewer goals in this campaign.
