Copa Libertadores action will return this week, and in the third round of matches, we will see Corinthians welcome Independiente del Valle to the Neo Quimica Arena for a Group E clash on Wednesday. Group E is already shaping up to be a difficult one to predict, with Argentinos Juniors getting off to a good start. Corinthians won their opening match against Liverpool but were unable to follow up against the group leaders a couple of weeks ago, losing 1-0 at home. The Brazilians have also had a shaky start in domestic competition and currently sit in 16th place in Serie A after three matches, with one win and two losses. They come into this match on a three-match win streak in all competitions and are unbeaten in their last five. Like their opponents, Independiente were beaten by Argentions Juniors but beat Liverpool 2-0 in their first two matches, leaving them in third place in the group, behind their opponents with a single goal difference. While they have been good in the main, Independiente’s two losses this season did come on the road, and heading to Brazil for this one will definitely provide a stern test for the visitors.
