Segunda B side Cordoba will face off with La Liga side Getafe in the second round of the Copa del Rey on Tuesday. The two sides are so far having mixed fortunes in their leagues and should both welcome the Copa del Rey break. In Segunda B, Cordoba are second in the standings after a fine start, with 14 points, while Getafe are low in the La Liga standings – 15th on 17 points. Heading to this game, Cordoba are on three straight wins and will be looking to extend the fine run here. This is the hosts’ first game of the year; in their last in 2020, they dumped Albacete out of the Copa del Rey with a 1-0 win. That was their third straight clean sheet, and sixth goal in three matches. They have failed to score in just two of their nine matches this season, while scoring two or more goals in two of the nine. The hosts have also conceded two or more in just two of the nine matches and in their five home matches so far, they have three wins. Cordoba have four clean sheets, one loss and scored in four of their last five matches at home. In the Copa del Rey, they have a fine scoring run, having netted in eight of their last 10 matches, and having lost at home to Getafe in this competition in 2018 October, they’ll be keen to avoid a repeat. Getafe are not a very attacking team; with 12 goals scored in La Liga, they are the second lowest scorers in the league, and heading here, they have scored twice in just two of their last 10 matches. Playing away from home has also not come with great results; in their last eight away matches, Getafe have two wins and failed to score in five. In the Copa del Rey, they have three wins in the last 11 away matches and have no clean sheet in the last 15 away matches in the competition, while they have just one in 20 away matches.
