Colombia vs Peru Prediction & Betting Tips - Copa America
by Daniel Ngulu in Football Predictions
Peru go into their second match of the Copa America against Colombia still holding the underdogs tag, but will be hoping to upset a Colombia side that hasn’t been all convincing. Colombia’s two matches in Group B so far have seen them bag four points while Peru are without a point after a 4-0 loss to Brazil. As Colombia take to this game a run of four unbeaten matches, their most recent one, a 0-0 draw with Venezuela left a lot of questions over their ability to challenge for honors. That will not be entirely measurable at the group stage, with four teams set to advance to the quarters from this pool. Still Colombia will hope to improve from the Venezuela performance, having failed to score for the first time in five matches. That was however their third clean sheet in four matches and signals an improvement in defence.
Peru were completely outplayed by Brazil and will view a game against Colombia as a less tougher challenge. They will be gunning for a first win at Copa America but to do that some improvement is needed, having failed to score in four of their last five matches. The only time they scored in that period, they failed to keep a clean sheet, in a 2-1 win over Ecuador. They go here in search of their first clean sheet in 11 matches and after four losses in the last five matches, any result other than defeat to Colombia will pass as a shock. Peru are also bottom of the World Cup qualification table in South America, and with the joint most losses; they are clearly going through tough times. They also have no win over Colombia in the last 10 meetings.

Our Colombia vs Peru Prediction
Colombia were somewhat below par against a depleted Venezuela side and should be able to pick themselves up here. They have some of the best attacking talent at Copa America and with a good defensive run, they shouldn’t have trouble seeing off this Peru side. Peru’s poor run of form at the World Cup qualifiers was witnessed in their 4-0 drubbing by Brazil and we don’t expect them to recover here. Back Colombia to win both halves.
