Colombia vs Chile Prediction & Betting Tips - World Cup
by Daniel Ngulu | in World Cup Predictions
Colombia have one outright win in their last eight matches, a run they will want to improve when they host Chile in the ninth round of matches in the CONMEBOL World Cup qualifiers. They are currently occupying the playoff spot, fifth in the standings, with 10 points and face a Chile side that has dropped to eighth place with seven points. The Colombians are coming from a 1-1 draw away in Paraguay, a fourth straight game in which both teams have scored in their matches. Four of their last five matches have produced under 2.5 goals and Colombia have the joint poorest defensive run in the qualifiers, having conceded 15 goals. While they are unbeaten in four World Cup qualifiers, they have just one win in that run, and both sides have managed to score in four of their last five matches.
Chile on the other hand, are really struggling, and go to this game without a win in their last five matches, losing three. Their key players are slowly fading out and there seems to be a shortage in replacement of the same quality. The class of Arturo Vidal, Alexis Sanchez, Claudio Bravo, Gary Medel, Mauricio Isla, Eduardo Vargas, Esteban Mena and the rest is aging and very few great young players are coming through. Sanchez is currently injured and the team generally isn’t doing well in attack. They haven’t scored a goal in the last four matches, and have one win only in nine. A factor of the low scoring nature is that each of the last nine matches has produced under 2.5 goals. In their last five World Cup qualification matches, Chile have no win, just two losses. They are without a win in 10 straight away World Cup matches and head to head with Colombia, draws have been the most. In the last seven matches, six have ended in draws.

Our Colombia vs Chile Prediction
Colombia are in a much better position coming into this game but one stat that sticks out is that both sides haven’t been scoring a lot. Most of their recent matches have seen under 2.5 goals scored. Most of their meetings have also ended in draws, and while that may also be likely here, under 2.5 goals looks more promising.
