Colombia vs Argentina Prediction & Betting Tips - World Cup
by Daniel Ngulu | in World Cup Predictions
Argentina’s race in the 2022 World Cup qualification campaign suffered a minor hitch in their last outing as they drew 1-1 with Chile on Match Day 5. They will be looking to make up for it when they travel to Colombia on Match Day 6. Heading there, Argentina are placed second with 11 points while Colombia are sixth with seven points. Both these nations will want to wrap up the qualifiers on a high before going to the Copa America competition in Brazil. Colombia traveled to Lima, Peru in their last game and registered a 3-0 win but the win came at a cost as Daniel Munoz was sent off on the hour mark which rules him out of this clash. It was their first win in four matches and a good boost, having lost the earlier two matches, both in humiliating fashion. Before beating Peru, Colombia had lost 6-1 to Ecuador and 3-0 at home to Uruguay, and earlier had drawn 2-2 with Chile. They have two clean sheets in the five qualification matches, and have conceded two or more in three while all five have produced over 2.5 goals.
Argentina led for just 12 minutes in their home match against Chile, with Lionel Messi’s 24th minute penalty goal being canceled out by Alexis Sanchez. They have a 12-game unbeaten run going to this game and though playing away from home, they will still hold the favorites’ tag. Their only loss in 16 matches was against Brazil in 2019, and this run is what they want to maintain ahead of the Copa America which comes right afterwards. They’ve drawn twice in their five qualification matches and one thing that has seriously missed in Argentina’s performances is an edge in attack, despite the talent in the team. In their five qualification matches, they have scored more than once in just two, and have won by more than a goal margin in just one game. As a result, their matches have been low scoring, with only one producing over 2.5 goals out of the five.

Our Colombia vs Argentina Prediction
The only wins for Colombia in the qualification process have come against the bottom two sides, and those were the only matches in which they kept clean sheets. They have conceded a lot (11) and this is what Argentina may want as they seek to unlock their attack, which has been scoring few goals. Colombia will however be boosted by their win in the last game and going here will want to make their home advantage count, thus we expect a tight game. Argentina to win by a slim margin still makes a lot of sense.
