The Round of 16 in the Copa Libertadores will see Colo Colo taking on Atletico Junior with the first leg set to get underway on Wednesday morning. The winner of this tie will move on to face either Talleres or River Plate in the quarter-final. Let’s get into the match prediction. 

Colo Colo were arguably one of the biggest surprises to emerge from the group stage of this competition, as they edged Cerro Porteno to second place via the head-to-head tiebreaker. 

Across the six group-stage matches, Los Albos managed only one win, which was against El Ciclon in their opening match, while they drew three and lost two of their remaining five. 

Since then, though, the hosts have been in good form domestically, unbeaten in their last eight league and cup matches, while currently on a four-match winning streak here at Estadio Monumental David Arellano. 

Meanwhile, Atletico Junior had an impressive group-stage in this competition, as they claimed the top spot ahead of Botafogo with 10 points and were unbeaten in their six matches, including two wins and four draws. 

However, Los Tiburones’ league form has suffered this season, as they’ve managed just five points from their first four Clausura matches, and enter this match off the back of consecutive draws against Independiente Medellin and Alianza. 

Notably, the visitors are winless in their last four away games and failed to score in each of those matches.
