Olimpia will be hoping to overturn their first leg deficit when they take on Flamengo in the Copa Libertadores round of 16 second leg on Friday. The visitors currently lead 1-0, and the winner of this match will go on to face Fluminense in the quarter-finals. The hosts come into this match following a much-needed win in their last match over Club Guarani. That result halted a six-match losing streak that included five losses and a draw, as well as a Copa Paraguay loss to Sportivo San Lorenzo. The defending Copa Libertadores champions qualified for the knockout stages in second place in Group A, two points behind Racing Club and with a record of three wins, two draws, and one loss in their six matches. They were absolutely dominant in the first leg, hogging 75% of possession while firing 16 shots at goal and five on target, with Bruno Henrique finding the back of the net in the 49th minute. Flamengo are on a three-match winning streak against this opponent and smashed four gaols past them the last time they visited this venue back in 2021. They are massive favourites according to the bookies, and with a goal advantage, it’s going to take a special performance from the hosts to deny Flamengo qualification to the next round.
