Club Libertad will have their eyes set on moving to the top of Group G of Copa Libertadores when they take on Alianza Lima in the second matchday in Asunción on Friday. Libertad are 2nd in the standings with three points from one match and could go top with a win, while Alianza Lima are 3rd with a single point from their season opener. Both teams made it directly to the group stage this season. Libertad followed their first-round win with seven points from three league matches, scoring nine goals in those two wins. They are currently top of the domestic league standings with a six-point lead to the second-placed Cerro Porteno. That should give them confidence of posting back-to-back wins in this competition, having not done so in six matches. Club Libertad are in their seventh straight Libertadores appearance, having made it to the group stages for the second straight season.
