Club Guarani attempt to claw back a 2-1 deficit when hosting Botafogo. This is the second leg of the last 16 round in the Copa Sudamerica. The winners will face either Emelec or Defensa y Justica in the quarter finals. Botafogo struggled in the home leg and had to recover from conceding in the third minute. It took a 90th minute penalty to give them a 2-1 lead to take to Paraguay. Botafogo are 13 points clear at the top of Brazil's Serie A after 18 matches. They come into this game unbeaten in their last 14 matches. Away form has seen them without a defeat in their last seven fixtures. They've managed to avoid defeat in their last four away games in the Copa Sudamerica, keeping clean sheets in the last two.

Club Guarani are seventh in their domestic league with seven points from five games. The weekend saw them lose 5-3 at Olimpia who are below them in the table. That was their second defeat in a row with three of the last five seeing them beaten with 11 goals conceded. Home form is a problem at present with only two wins in the last seven and three losses.
