Clermont vs Lille Prediction & Betting Tips - Ligue 1

Relegation threatened Clermont Foot have another tough Ligue 1 fixture as they host Lille. The home side begin the weekend 17th in the table with Lille flying high in fourth. Clermont only have Lyon below them in the Ligue 1 table and are three points from safety but with an inferior goal difference to 15th placed Toulouse. The Lancers are struggling for form at present with no wins in their last three Ligue 1 fixtures, losing two of them 3-0. They nearly got a win at Montpellier but the home side drew level with an 87th minute penalty. Only two of their 14 league games have been won this season. Those two successes came against Lyon and Lorient, the other two clubs in the bottom three. Home form has produced just one win over Lorient but five of the other six have been lost. Scoring is a problem for them with only nine league goals this term.

Lille are in the Champions League places and seven points behind league leaders PSG. They have won seven of their 14 league games with five draws and a couple of defeats. The Northmen come into this game in far better form than their opponents. Their last two league fixtures have both been won with a victory at Lyon followed by a home victory over Metz. That win took their unbeaten run in Ligue 1 to eight games since a loss to Reims in September. On their league travels, the Mastiffs are unbeaten in their last five games with two wins and three draws. We tip an away win here.
