Chelsea picked a labored win in their last game, beating Norwich City 3-2 to hand Frank Lampard his first win as manager and they will be looking to extend the same to another freshly promoted team, Sheffield United. They have played four competitive matches so far, and won one, without managing a clean sheet therein. Chelsea picked a point in a 1-1 draw with Leicester in their first league game at home and they will want to do better in the second. They have however not had a very good run in the league, with just four wins in the last 10 matches and four clean sheets as well. What they have lacked away from home though, Chelsea have compensated with a fine run at home and going to this clash they are unbeaten in the last 10 league matches at home and only three losses in 35. Sheffield on the other hand go to this game on two wins in their four competitive matches played so far this season and they will be on a high after their League Cup win over Blackburn in midweek action. They have suffered just two losses in their last 22 competitive matches and will want to claim another big scalp when they tour Stamford Bridge and being unbeaten in the last 10 competitive away matches is a good psychological start for them. Before promotion, Sheffield had last played in the Premier League in 2007; they left with a 10 – match winless run away from home and that now stands at 11.
