Chelsea made it to the last sixteen of the Champions League last season, losing to eventual winners Bayern Munich. They begin their 2020/21 campaign with a home match against Sevilla who didn’t need their Europa League win to qualify for this competition. Chelsea have made an inconsistent start to the season. Which side will turn up for this match? The one that could beat Crystal Palace 4-0 or the one that conceded nine goals in two games against Liverpool, West Brom and Southampton? Saturday saw them blow a lead at home to Southampton but at least Timo Werner made an impact with two goals. This is their first appearance in the competition since the 2017/18 season. Only one of their last six Champions League games have ended in a win for them but four have been drawn. Just one of their last six on the road in this competition has been lost. Both teams have scored in five of their last six away Champions League games. Saturday saw them lose 1-0 away at Granada, that ended their unbeaten start in La Liga. They have already drawn at Barcelona this season and three of their last four away games have seen both teams get on the scoresheet. With both sides not that great at keeping clean sheets, a bet on both teams to score is the suggested wager.
