Neither of these two sides expected to be in the position they find themselves in at the start of February. Both would have been expecting to be in the top four challenging for the title but that's not to be this season. Instead Chelsea find themselves still in the bottom half of the table but still with a decent chance of getting into the Europa League. Those chances will keep on improving if they can maintain the unbeaten run they have been on since sacking Jose Mourinho. Manchester United will be a tough nut to crack though, they've had two good wins in the past week, a 3-1 win at Derby and then an impressive 3-0 home win over Stoke. Rooney continues to be in good scoring form but United are at the stage now where they just can't afford many more slip-ups. By the time this game begins on Sunday they could be eight points adrift of the top four with a game in hand. A frightening statistic for them and their club accountants. Both these sides can be inconsistent as gamblers have discovered to their cost this season. I think a bet on both teams to score looks the safest option.
