The new Premier League season begins with a blockbuster of a match at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea host reigning champions Manchester City which gives their new coach Enzo Maresca the toughest possible start.
Chelsea finished sixth in the Premier League last season, 28 points behind City. They did well to finish in that position with seven of their last ten league fixtures being won. Despite that they still changed their coach at the end of the season.
Plenty more players have been bought during the summer and knowing the Blues, they'll sign more before the transfer window closes. Just how Maresca is supposed to work out his best 11 is anyone's guess at present.
Manchester City are bidding to win the Premier League for the fifth season in a row. They have lost Julian Alvarez during the summer and their only major signing has been Savinho from Troyes. The Citizens have already won the Community Shield this year.

Pep Guardiola's side have gone 23 league games without defeat. Their last loss being to Aston VIlla back in early December 2023. They have won ten out of 11 away league games since that defeat.
