Chelsea vs Liverpool Prediction & Betting Tips - FA Cup
by Daniel Ngulu | in FA Cup Predictions
Liverpool suffered their first loss of the season in the Premier League on Saturday and will be hoping to recover when they travel to Chelsea in the fifth round of the FA Cup on Tuesday. It has not been an easy run for both sides in recent weeks and Liverpool’s 3-0 loss at Watford will go down as one of the biggest shocks in the season. As Liverpool got battered by Watford, Chelsea had to battle for a point in the 2-2 draw at Bournemouth, after taking the lead and falling behind later. In their last four games, Chelsea have scored four goals, and Marcos Alonso, has scored three of those. He was on hand to salvage a draw against Bournemouth in the 85th minute, having also scored the opener. His goal against Tottenham also aided the Blues to a win in their earlier Premier League game. Chelsea have no clean sheet in their last eight matches and have conceded two or more goals in five of the eight. On the other hand, they have scored two or more goals in seven of their last 10 matches. They have two wins, two losses and a draw in their last five home matches. Only one clean sheet has been registered in the five home matches while they have failed to score in two of the five. They have however scored at least twice in each of their remaining three. In their last 12 FA Cup matches, Chelsea have lost just once and won nine of them. Their run is even better at home in the FA Cup; they have lost just once in the last 15 at home. In their last eight FA Cup matches at home, Chelsea have kept seven clean sheets.
Liverpool will want to quickly forget their fall at Watford when they get to this match, but their recent run has not inspired much confidence. The loss was their second in three matches and in their last five matches, Liverpool may have won three but none with a margin of more than one goal. They had most of their top players but still an average, relegation threatened Watford side managed to score three goals against the Premier League top contenders. The loss to Watford handed Liverpool their second straight away loss and traveling to Chelsea will not be an easy outing, even though Chelsea have been struggling lately. In their last six away matches in the FA Cup, Liverpool have managed just one win, over Plymouth Argyle and in the 1-0 win, they also got their only clean sheet in six away FA Cup matches. They have lost three of the six away matches and conceded two goals in each of the remaining five aside from the Plymouth win.

Our Chelsea vs Liverpool Prediction
Liverpool are facing their toughest time so far in the season; they have two losses in their last three matches and have lost back to back away matches. Their 3-0 loss to Watford was a big shocker and traveling to Chelsea straight after that is not what they’d have wanted. Chelsea have their own problems but will want to look at their recovery to draw with Bournemouth as enough inspiration. The FA Cup presents their realest chance of winning a title and playing this game at home will give them the right push. The Blues have done well in the FA Cup lately, and especially at home and we are backing the home team for a win here.
