Chelsea vs Liverpool Prediction & Betting Tips - Premier League

Meetings between Chelsea and Liverpool don't usually see the two teams in such poor form. Chelsea have spent hundreds of millions of pounds on players but are in the bottom half of the Premier League. They lost 2-0 at home to Aston Villa on Saturday to further diminish their hopes of European football next season.  The weekend loss was their tenth league defeat of the season.  They are now 12 points behind fourth place and if seventh can get a side into the Europa Conference League (hardly the target of their big spending owners) there's a five point gap to be made up. Four of the sides above them have at least one game in hand on the Blues. Chelsea against Liverpool doesn't usually see the two teams in such poor form. Chelsea have only won two of their last nine league games with just one win in their last five at home. All those midfielders and strikers purchased and only once in their last 13 league games have they scored more than once in a game. This league football game is a key game for the Blues.

Meanwhile at Anfield, Jurgen Klopp is not in a happy mood. He was highly critical of his team after their 4-1 loss at Manchester City on Saturday. Klopp was rightly bemused at how the Reds played well in the first half but totally fell apart after the break. That defeat was their ninth Premier League loss of the season and they've now conceded 33 goals. That's compared to just 26 conceded in the whole of the last Premier League season. Away form has been hugely disappointing this season with just three wins in 14 matches. Last season they won 13 on the road and lost just twice, this term they have alread been beaten in eight away league games. No calls for Klopp to be sacked though, despite the fact they've lost five of their last seven away league games with 14 goals conceded in those losses. They are eight points behind fourth place and after this game they host Arsenal at the weekend, so it's a vital few days for them.
