Chelsea are battling on two fronts to ensure they return to the Champions League next season. Thursday saw them get past Slavia Prague to reach the semi-finals of the Europa League and now they return to Premier League action trying to get a top four finish. They start this set of league games in fifth place in the table, only behind Arsenal on goal difference but having played one game more than them. After this home game against Burnley, they play Manchester United at Old Trafford who are two points behind them with a game in hand. Three points from this game against Burnley are an absolute must and their home form is strong at present. Chelsea are on a seven-game unbeaten run in all competitions and won five of the last six in the Premier League conceding just twice (compared to five away losses in the last seven).

Burnley won at Stamford Bridge last season but have had a troubled time this term. They look to have almost secured their position in the Premier League for next season and are 14th with an eight-point lead over Cardiff City and the relegation zone. They have won their last three league matches to dig themselves out of trouble but two of those victories were at home. On their travels, Burnley have two wins from their last six with victories at inconsistent Bournemouth and relegation-threatened Brighton and Hove Albion. Chelsea can keep their top-four hopes alive with a home win from this match.
