Gameweek ten in the English Premier League will see Chelsea take on Brentford at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening. Both sides have made mixed starts to the 2023-24 season, with the hosts currently in tenth place, while the visitors are 14th. Chelsea recorded just one win in their first five league matches this season. During that time, they drew to Bournemouth and lost to Nottingham Forest, managing their only win over Luton Town. However, since then, The Blues are on an upward trajectory and come into this match unbeaten in their last three. That includes a hard-fought 2-2 draw against London rivals Arsenal last weekend, which was the most difficult match in October for them. This is another favourable fixture for the hosts, and they will know the importance of getting the win before a difficult fixture swing. After this match, Chelsea face Spurs, Man City, Newcastle, Brighton, and Man United in their next five league games. 

In contrast, Brentford made a promising start to the season and were unbeaten in their first four matches. However, their 3-0 win over Burnley last weekend brought an end to a four-match winless run that included three losses and a draw. Nevertheless, having picked up the win fresh off the international break, they will be hoping to get back into the top half as soon as possible. The Bees are currently on ten points after nine games, and a win here will see them leapfrog Chelsea, who are just two points above them. The visitors failed to win any of their last three away games but did beat this opponent at this venue 2-0 last season. They will be hoping for a similar outcome here, but the bookmakers have them down as the underdogs in this one.
