Chelsea - Borussia Dortmund: Form Analysis
Chelsea come to this match needing to win by at least two clear goals to secure passage to the last eight. Graham Potter’s men will be buoyed by their 1-0 home win over Leeds United last time out which ended a run of six straight matches without a win across all competitions. The Blues have struggled this season with their Achilles heel being their lack of goals. The London side have scored just 24 goals in 25 league matches and were without a goal in six straight before Wesley Fofana headed home against Leeds his first-ever goal for the club. This makes their task against Dortmund more difficult with the German side possessing the third meanest defence in the Bundesliga. Chelsea have also stuttered at home and haven’t won back-to-back matches at Stamford Bridge since last October. This year they have scored just two goals at home in five matches and have kept just one clean sheet. Considering this, an under 2.5 goals outcome is likely here.
While Chelsea are struggling to salvage their season, Borussia Dortmund are flying high and are fighting it out in three competitions. Edin Terzic’s men are tied at the top of the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich thanks to their 16 wins, which is the most in the division. They are also through to the quarterfinals of the DFB Pokal. They come to this match on a 10-match winning streak and beat fellow title hopefuls RB Leipzig 2-1 last time out. Looking at their record, you can come to the conclusion that Dortmund will come to Chelsea with the mindset of trying to win and not just protect their advantage. They have scored 25 goals in this winning streak and should again be on the score sheet on Tuesday.

Chelsea & Borussia Dortmund Squad Analysis
On paper, Chelsea have a strong enough squad to challenge the best of the best in Europe but they haven’t been able to do so. Kai Haverts and Raheem Sterling have scored 13 goals between them across all competitions and should again be chosen to lead the line on Tuesday. Thiago Silva is ruled out for a lengthy period with injury but N’Golo Kante and Christian Pulisic could be involved here having returned to training after long injury layoffs.
Julian Brandt and Marco Reus have both netted twice in Dortmund’s last three matches and should play here from the start. Karim Adeyemi, who scored the winner in the first leg is doubtful for this match while Youssoufa Moukoko is ruled out.
