Charlotte FC plays their first ever home match in the MLS as they welcome LA Galaxy to the Bank of America Stadium. The hosts had a tough introduction in their debut match as they were thumped 3-0 by DC United. They had many opportunities in the match to score but failed to take their chances and paid the price. Charlotte FC are yet to win a match this season as they did not manage a victory in the four pre-season matches they played and are now matches without a win. They will need their strikers to start firing or else they are in for a long season ahead. In the five matches Charlotte FC  have played they have only managed to score two goals. They will be hoping that the home fans in their inaugural home match will lift the team to their maiden victory.

The second most successful team in MLS history the LA Galaxy showed they mean business this season when they won their first match 1-0 against the defending champions New York City. They needed a 90th strike to get the three points but it was the best possible start for them.
