Central African Republic will play host to Angola in their next AFCON 2023 qualifier in Group E. going to the penultimate round of qualifiers, the hosts are second and Angola third. Two points separate the two nations, CAR having managed seven so far. A win here will secure CAR’s slot in the finals and they could even go top of the group. Their 2-0 win over Madagascar in their last game was the third in four matches. They have two straight clean sheets and have scored two or more in the three wins. In only one of the last five have CAR failed to score – their 1-0 loss to Congo. At the start of the qualifiers, CAR lost 2-1 away to Angola. They’ve however gone undefeated in the three matches that came after that. In their last two, they beat Madagascar home and away.

Angola will be looking to complete a double over CAR following the 2-1 win in Luanda. However, with just one win in their last five matches, they will need to bring their best game. Angola are coming from back to back matches against Ghana. Those ended in a loss and a draw, the most recent a 1-1 outcome in Luanda. Angola have managed just one clean sheet in six matches. They have no win in the three AFCON qualification matches coming after their win over CAR. The visitors haven't kept a clean sheet in the four matches in this group either. In AFCON qualifiers away from home, Angola have no win in five. They have one win and seven losses away from home in the qualifiers. The visitors have also failed to score in three of their last five away AFCON qualification matches.
