Celtic vs Rangers Prediction & Betting Tips - Scottish Premiership
by Steve Ashfield | in Football Predictions
Both of these sides qualified for the group stage of the Europa League but Rangers are a lot happier about that achievement than Celtic who started the season in the Champions League. Also upsetting Celtic is the fact they are only second in the Scottish Premiership with six points from three league games. They have beaten Livingston and Hamilton but lost away at Hearts who sit top of the table with maximum points from their three league games. Celtic have only lost one of their last 50 home league games and last lost a home league game to Rangers in 2010.
This is Steven Gerrard's first Old Firm derby since becoming manager of Rangers. He's made a good start to his time at Ibrox and he's yet to see his team beaten whether it be a friendly, Europa League game or Scottish Premiership match. Rangers have gone 17 games without defeat since losing 5-0 at Celtic in April. In the Scottish Premiership they are fourth in the table with one win and two draws from their three games. It looked as if they might lose that unbeaten record when 2-0 down at Motherwell last Sunday but ended up drawing 3-3. They did in fact lead 3-2 in that game but conceded a last minute goal, just as they did when drawing 1-1 at Aberdeen. Not an easy game to predict and It's the away side that have had to travel back home from Russia after Europa League duty on Thursday. Celtic have the impressive home record and can get the upperhand and the three points from this game.

Our Celtic vs Rangers Prediction
Steven Gerrard has made an impressive start to his managerial career but this is his toughest test to date. His Rangers side are unbeaten in the Scottish Premiership but have just the one win. Their away form is patchy and they can't afford to go two down here as they did at Motherwell last weekend. Celtic are disappointed at not being in the Champions League but fought back well to secure that Europa League group place. They rarely lose at home in the Scottish Premiership and have a good record against Rangers in recent years so go for a home win.
