This has to be Celtic’s worst season in recent years; the Scottish giants go to their final group game in the Europa League having failed to win any of their first five. They will be hosting French side Lille, who are seeking a win to finish top of Group H. Celtic have so far managed one point in the group and Lille have 11 points. The team has struggled this season, and it has been bad in the Europa League, with four losses in their five matches in the competition. Their only positive though will be that they have scored in nine straight Europa League matches, winning two and managing two clean sheets. They have conceded two or more goals in each of their last five Europa League matches. In their first meeting with Lille in this group, Celtic took a 2-0 lead at half time with Elyounoussi scoring both, but complacency crept in and the game ended 2-2. Going to this game, their recent form indicates they will struggle to cope with Lille’s threat.

Lille hope they can bag three points here to secure top spot in this group, with Milan, who are just a point behind them, set to face third placed Sparta Praha, who have nothing to play for. The French side has managed three wins in the last five matches and is unbeaten in the run. However, Lille have no clean sheet in their last four matches and have managed just two in the last 11 matches. They have one loss and eight wins in their last 15 matches and heading to this game, they have scored two goals or more in three of their last five matches. In each of their last 15 matches, Lille have scored, and six of their last 10 have produced over 2.5 goals. Despite everything, Lille have not won in their last two away matches but are unbeaten in their last five Europa League matches, having won three. They can only eye improvement in their away matches in this competition, having lost seven and won just two of the last 15. The two away wins have come in the two matches in this group; they thrashed Sparta Praha 4-1 and Milan 3-0.
