Celta Vigo vs Barcelona Prediction & Betting Tips - LaLiga
by Daniel Ngulu | in LaLiga Predictions
Barcelona will continue with their title quest this Saturday when they travel to Celta Vigo in Round 32 of the Spanish La Liga. Ahead of the game, 35 points separate the two sides; Celta Vigo in 16th place on 33 points and Barcelona second on 68 points. Celta Vigo are just seven points above the relegation region, and with seven matches to play, each one of these is very crucial. They have matches against other battling sides, Real Mallorca and Real Betis in the coming few days before taking on Atletico Madrid. These matches will de key in determining their La Liga fate and after an impressive restart, they will be looking to extend the run that has seen them win the last two matches. they have not conceded in the three matches since the league resumed. They started with a 0-0 draw with Valladolid before silencing Alavés 6-0 and beating Real Sociedad 1-0. They have four wins and just one loss in their last nine matches, which should give them confidence going to face Barcelona. At home, they have three wins and just one loss in their last eight matches; among the wins was a 2-1 victory over Sevilla. In 15 home matches this season in La Liga, Celta Vigo have conceded more than one goal on only three occasions but they have managed just five wins. They have collected most of their wins at home (five of seven) and can be unpredictable when playing at the Abanca-Balaídos. They have failed to score in five of their last 10 home matches in La Liga, and they will hope that doesn’t strike here after the impressive run to avoid relegation.
While Barcelona heads to this game with the better run, they will be cognizant of the fact that away matches against Celta Vigo have not had the best returns in recent times. They have not won at Celta Vigo in their last three visits, the last time having lost 2-0. They however know this is a crucial game to their chase for the title. They are behind Real Madrid on goal difference and with the race getting tight, they can’t afford any slip ups here. In the last seven matches against Celta Vigo they have three wins, and one loss. This is encouraging but they have won eight of their 22 visits to Celta Vigo. Barcelona have no loss in their last five La Liga games; they have won four of these. The only time they dropped points in the last five league games was away to Sevilla – a 0-0 draw. They also have straight clean sheets in the five matches. They restarted action strongly, with a 4-0 win over Mallorca but it has been less powerful after that. They beat Leganes 2-0 and failed to score against Sevilla then struggled at home to a 1-0 win over Athletic Club. They needed substitute Ivan Rakitic’s 71st minute strike after coming from the bench, to win the game. They have not had the best of runs away from home in recent matches. In the last 10 away games, Barcelona have won three. In 15 away league matches, they have won six, a poor fraction of the total 21 wins they have registered all season in the league. The Spanish giants have also failed to keep clean sheets in 10 of 15 away league matches

Our Celta Vigo vs Barcelona Prediction
Both Barcelona and Celta Vigo need three points from this match. Barcelona are the form team here, but their away record leaves a lot to be desired. Despite their profile, they will be under pressure here just like Celta Vigo. Barca wants three points to aid in the title push while Celta Vigo hopes to boost their push to avoid relegation with a win. Most of Celta Vigo’s wins this season have come at home and they have restarted well. They can be tough to play when at home and they will want to pull this on Barcelona, who have not had a very comfortable run away from home. Barcelona have also not kept many away clean sheets in La Liga away matches and haven’t won at Celta Vigo in recent visits. Having in mind too that Celta Vigo have not conceded more than a goal a game in 12 of 15 home matches in La Liga, we will go with a 1-1 draw here.
