Atletico Madrid start their La Liga title defence with an away game at Celta Vigo, both sides eyeing winning starts. Celta Vigo have had the better run in preseason, playing two friendly matches and winning both. They lost their final league match last season; 3-2 to Real Betis, and that remains their only loss in the last eight matches. Atletico Madrid haven’t had a very smooth run in preseason but will be gunning for a better start to the new season. They head here winless in three of their last four matches, losing two and registering one draw. They have one win only in their five preseason matches, a 2-1 victory over German side Wolfsburg. In those five matches, they have no clean sheet, and in their most recent game, they conceded twice, in a 2-1 defeat inflicted by Feyenoord. They’ve however failed to score in just one of their last eight matches. In their last seven away matches in La Liga, Atletico have two wins only. They go to this game unbeaten in five matches against Celta Vigo but three of them, including the most recent one, have ended in draws.
