Celta Vigo host Almeria and both sides are looking for points to help them avoid relegation from La Liga. The home side are one place and three points above the relegation zone with Almeria rock bottom of the table. Celta Vigo have gone three league games without a win but should have been the victors in their most recent match. They led 2-0 at Cadiz who are only a place below them in La Liga. However, the home team fought back to earn a point with a 100th minute equalizer. Celta Vigo have only won four league games this season with nine draws and 13 losses. Home form has seen them win just two out of 13 in La Liga this season. They won two games in a row in late December/early January but have lost their last three on home soil. Both teams have scored in four of ther last six home league fixtures. The reverse fixture saw them win 3-2.

Almeria look doomed to being relegated at the end of this season. They begin the weekend 12 points from safety, virtually 13 due to their appalling -29 goal difference. They have played 26 league games this season and are still waiting to get their first win. Nine games have been drawn but 17 lost.  Recent form has seen them go three league games unbeaten, all ending in draws. Those are helpful but a lot more is needed if they are to be in La Liga next season. Their most recent league fixture saw them come from behind to get a home draw with Atletico Madrid.  Away form has produced just two points from 13 games. Both teams have been on the scoresheet in three of their last four matches and five of the last six on the road. We back that statistic to come up again on Friday.
