FC Managua finished seven points clear at the top of the regular Clausera league. That took them into the play-off semi-finals, where they have a tricky away first leg at fourth placed Walter Ferretti. Managua won 13 of their 18 league games with only two defeats. They ended the season with four wins in a row and overall are unbeaten in their last 13 league and cup games. That includes an unbeaten run of five away games with three wins and two draws. One of those wins was an away victory at Walter Ferretti, winning the game 1-0 thanks to a goal six minutes before the half-time break. In their last five away league games, there have only been five goals scored and four clean sheets have been kept. Overall, their nine away league games only produced 16 goals (nine scored and seven conceded) with under 2.5 goals scored in seven of them.

Walter Ferretti ended the season in fourth place but that was 12 points behind the league leaders. They had a strong end to the regular season though with four straight wins before a loss at Managua. They showed their good form with a 5-1 home thrashing of Jalapa. It could have been more considering they led 4-1 six minutes into the second half. The goals have certainly been flowing on home soil with 19 in the last five games. Only one of those matches has been played against a side that finished in the top five. That was Jalapa who ended the season in appalling form. This is going to be a lot tougher for Ferretti whose only recent home losses have been against teams in the top three. The tip here is for under 2.5 goals to be scored.
