We have Championship action in midweek when Cardiff City host West Brom on Tuesday night. One would think this would be an occasion to look forward to for West Brom given that they are top of the table. However, this is not exactly the case. The Baggies are on a bizarre run of six league games without a win. They have tasted victory twice since the run began, both of those wins coming in FA Cup fixtures. These occasions have been respites from their league drama and reminders to fans (and players) that they can win. Perhaps a match against midtable Cardiff (loitering in 13th) can rejuvenate the promotion-chasing side. After all, they did beat Cardiff 4-2 at the Hawthorns back in October. That shouldn't be hard to replicate, right? Maybe not.
While Cardiff are dire away from home, on their own patch they are reasonably good. In fact, they have only lost one of 13 Championship matches at the Cardiff City Stadium, a home record that bests those of both West Brom and Leeds. While West Brom can't match Cardiff's home record, they do boast the best away record in the second tier. As their league position suggests, Cardiff have been failing to pick up results in recent months. Only one of their last eight league matches has been a victory and that came in 2019 (a 2-1 win at Sheffield Wednesday on December 29th). We think it represents another decent opportunity for The Baggies to end their winless streak. Back the away side draw no bet.

Our Cardiff vs West Brom Prediction
West Brom have been very good at times this season and it leads us to believe that this run will end sooner rather than later. Now is as good a time as any for that to happen with the Baggies coming off the back of an FA Cup win at West Ham. While Cardiff is a tough trip to make, the Bluebirds struggle to kill off teams. This is reflected in their patchy record. Back West Brom draw no bet.
