Cardiff City face Stoke City in a battle between two teams very much out of form. The Bluebirds have won just one of their last seven, ending a run of three successive defeats last weekend with a 0-0 draw against Blackburn Rovers. Erol Bulut's team have managed to score just one goal in their last four games, and they have not won any of their last six games at home, losing four and drawing two and they have not managed to score a goal in front of their home fans in 2024. Cardiff fans will draw hope from the fact that all their four most recent wins have come against teams ranked no higher than 11th in the Championship table and three of those wins have come against teams ranked in the bottom four of the table (Millwall, Queens Park Rangers and Sheffield Wednesday).

If there is some positive news for Cardiff City supporters it is that their opponents on Saturday have been equally poor in recent times. Since taking over as manager after leaving Plymouth in December, Stoke City manager Steven Schumacher hasn't been able to turn the clubs' fortunes around and they come into this game on the back of a run of five defeats in their last six games in the Championship. That run has left Stoke in 19th place in the table on 35 points and worryingly for Stoke fans, they are now just three points clear of the relegation places due to QPR's improvement in form of late. Goals have been a major problem for the team, averaging less than a goal a game scored this season and conceding almost 1.4 goals per game. That is relegation form.
