Manchester City start the weekend in third place two points behind league leaders Chelsea. They lost at home to Lyon in the Champions League and need to bounce back from that defeat. They are unbeaten in the Premier League this season with only two points dropped in an away game at Wolverhampton Wanders. Now they travel to Wales to face the other team that won automatic promotion from the Championship last season, Cardiff City. Pep Guardiola's team are unbeaten in their last 11 league games and nine on the road. They can't afford a slip-up in this game but at least Pep can talk to his players this time.

The home side are still looking for their first league win of the season. They have just two points from their first five league games but are one place above the relegation zone and would be delighted if they ended the season in that position. Their only points have come in draws with Newcastle United (who missed a last minute penalty) and Huddersfield Town. The Welsh team have only scored three goals in their five games with nine goals conceded and seven of those have come in the last two games against Arsenal and Chelsea. Add in a 3-1 loss to Norwich City in the Carabao Cup and that's ten goals in three games. Not the ideal preparation for a game against high-scoring Manchester City. The tip here is for an away win with City ahead at both half and full time.
