Championship leaders Leeds United return to the pitch this Sunday when they travel to Cardiff for a behind-closed-doors league match at the Cardiff City Stadium. Leeds went into the pandemic-imposed break leading the table by one point, a whole seven points clear of the first non-automatic play-off place, third. Cardiff are ninth in the table and still in the running for a play-off place as they are only two points behind Preston in sixth. Marcelo Bielsa would have been as frustrated as any manager by the hiatus as his team were in better form than any other in the second tier. They are unbeaten in six matches, winning their last five. Cardiff, meanwhile, entered the break on the back of a win, the 2-0 victory over Barnsley ending a four-game run without a win. Only West Brom have a better away record than Leeds (10-4-5) but The Whites' recent head-to-head record against Cardiff is a cause for concern. They have failed to win any of their last four meetings with the Bluebirds, losing three of those games.

As their position in the table would suggest, Leeds are arguably the strongest club in the Championship - yet they're far from infallible. They have failed to win 16 of their 37 league matches and most of their wins come during (admittedly impressive) streaks. As well as their current five-match winning streak, Leeds have separate seven-match and three-match winning streaks under their belt this season. What this may imply is that any disruption to a streak could severely harm their form as the run of two wins in 11 matches showed after their seven-game winning streak was broken. Cardiff are not especially impressive at home (8-8-2) but they are difficult to beat. No team has lost fewer home matches. We suggest backing the Bluebirds in a double chance bet.
