In an interesting battle between two teams looking to further their top-six claims, Cardiff welcomes Leeds United. This matchday 27 of the Championship will be played at the Cardiff City Stadium on Saturday. Ahead of this round, the hosts are 9th in the standings with 37 points while the visitors are 4th with 48 points. Cardiff start this round three points from top-six and still have chances of gate crashing the party of those above them. They will have to pick the pieces though, as a 4-0 defeat at the hands of Sheffield Wednesday saw them crashing out of the FA Cup last weekend. The Blue Birds will have to improve their recent league form as well, where they have lost five of their last nine games. Yet, seven points from their last four matches indicate they could be up for the battle here.

Leeds had an easy outing in the FA Cup where they brushed aside Peterborough United 3-0 to make it two wins in two in the new year. They would be looking to continue the momentum as the top-two chase continues. Leeds are four points behind third-placed Southampton and need to arrest their poor recent run to bridge that gap. Leeds have lost three of their last six matches, which was as many as they lost in the entire of the remaining season! Worryingly enough, Leeds have lost each of their last three away league games and need something here to arrest that slide.
