Cardiff vs Hull Prediction & Betting Tips - Championship

Cardiff takes on Hull on Saturday at the Cardiff City Stadium with both teams sitting comfortably in the top half though without any real pretence of making the playoffs. Cardiff have put nine home wins on the board this season, their most since the 2019/20 campaign when 11 put them into the playoffs. They have lost eight, however, as it has been a feast or famine campaign, settling for just five draws through their first 40 matches. Recent 2-0 defeats at the hands of rivals Swansea and then Sunderland means that it will almost certainly be another season in the Championship for the Bluebirds. Defensively they have struggled in the first half, conceding in the opening 45 minutes in 14 of their last 20 games, slowing down that rate to 10 of 20 in the second half. 

Hull are six points adrift with a game in hand but there are three teams between them and Norwich so it would require an exceptional run into May for them to find themselves in the mix for playoff action. They were strong at home in the first half of the season but it has been on their travels that they have shown their best form. They were 1-1 away at Leeds on Monday until an 88th-minute penalty and a stoppage time tally saw them on the wrong end of a 3-1 scoreline. They had four wins and a draw in their prior five away from home for a solid run of efforts. They have done well getting themselves into positions to take points but they have not been able to hold firm enough at the back to get enough wins over the line.
