Swansea City didn't expect to make the play-offs with a three-point gap and an inferior goal difference. However, a great second half performance saw them win 4-1 at Reading while Nottingham Forest collapsed to a 4-1 home defeat. That took Swansea into the Championship play-offs where they meet Brentford over two legs. It could be an all-Welsh final if Cardiff also make it through. Then again, it could be a battle between two London sides if both Brentford and Fulham make it to Wembley. Swansea finished 11 points behind Brentford in the final table. They also lost both of their league games against them but thanks to the wonders of the play-offs, they could yet return to the Premier League. Swansea had the 12th best home record in the Championship. They won ten home league matches but were beaten on eight occasions. Only 27 home league goals were scored but just 23 conceded. They only scored in two of their last five home league games of the season, four of those matches having under 2.5 goals scored in them.
Just drawing their last two league games would have seen Brentford clinch automatic promotion. West Bromwich Albion stumbled into the Premier League earning just three points from their last four matches. Brentford had an away game at Stoke and then a final home match against relegation-threatened Barnsley but ended up losing both of those matches. A disaster for a side that had won their previous eight league games. They have to try and forget those two disasters now and concentrate.on making it into the Premier League for the first time by winning the play-offs. Brentford at least know they can beat Swansea but can they get over the massive disappointment of failing to finish in the top two? A bet on under 2.5 goals is the best one to make in this game.

Our Cardiff vs Fulham Prediction
These two clubs had very different emotions on Wednesday evening. Swansea surprised even themselves by squeezing into the play-offs. Meanwhile in London, Brentford lost at home to Barnsley, a game that if they had been the winners would now see them in the Premier League. They have to pick themselves up again and rediscover the form that saw them win eight straight league games. Swansea scored four on Wednesday (though it helped that Reading played the last 50 minutes with only ten men) but haven't been scoring too many at home of late. Go for under 2.5 goals in this match.
