Cardiff vs Burton Albion Prediction & Betting Tips - Championship
by Steve Ashfield | in Championship Predictions
The chances of Cardiff City winning promotion back to the Premier League are looking extremely high at present and they could even win the Championship. They start the weekend in second place, seven points clear of Fulham in third and with a game in hand. Cardiff are only six points behind leaders Wolves and with that game in hand they could yet be promoted as champions as they still have to play Wolves at home on April 6. Three points from this home game against Burton Albion looks to be the only result imaginable. Cardiff are on an 11-game unbeaten run in the Championship and have won their last seven in a row. At home, they have won their last six and ten of the last twelve so this is an almighty task for the visitors.
Burton Albion are one from bottom in the table and three points from safety. They have conceded 67 league goals this season and only Sunderland with 68 have conceded more. Form is a major worry as they battle to avoid relegation with just one point from their last five league games and they have only won one of their last 13 league matches and conceded at least twice in seven of them. Their last win was in February away to Barnsley who are one place above the bottom three. Away form for Burton has seen them get that one win at Barnsley in their last six league games but that's nothing compared to a disastrous home run of 15 games without victory. A bet on Cardiff and them leading at half and full time is the suggested bet here.
