The two sides have had mixed results in the past few matches, Cardiff City are heading to this game straight from a 2 – 1 loss at Arsenal while they have not managed a win this year. They will definitely be eyeing a better start to the month of February. They have scored just one goal in their last five matches, conceded nine and kept one clean sheet in the process. The bad run saw them drop back to the relegation region and they are four points off safety. They have the second worst defensive record in the league, having shipped in 46 goals. They are just better than Fulham but Bournemouth do not have the best of defences either, having shipped in 42 goals in 24 matches played. Bournemouth will however go to this game more confident, having kept straight clean sheets in the last two matches and while Cardiff have one goal in the last five matches, Bournemouth have scored two or more in three of the last five matches and have only failed to score once in their last five matches. Bournemouth’s main concern will be on their away run; they have lost each of their last seven away games and they get to face a Cardiff side with three wins in their last seven home matches. Cardiff have however not won any of their last three home matches, shipping in eight goals. Bournemouth have beaten Cardiff City in each of the last two meetings and four of the last six meetings. In 18 meetings between the two, Cardiff have six wins and Bournemouth eight.
