Cardiff vs Blackburn Prediction & Betting Tips - Championship

Three points separates Cardiff City and Blackburn Rovers in the Championship table, and both teams head into this game with just one win in their last five. The Bluebirds have been suffering with poor form at home of late, losing four of their last five games on home soil, and drawing the other. That form has left them 14th in the table and has pretty much ruled them out of contention for the playoffs this season, which will be disappointing for manager Erol Bulut. Confidence is low for the Welsh side and they badly need a result to get the fans back behind the team. They may not get as good an opportunity to do that against a Blackburn side who have similar struggles away from home at present. Their last win in front of their home fans was a 1-0 win over Millwall on December the 9th. They did however win four games at home in a row (unbeaten in six in a row) from the end of August to early October.

Blackburn Rovers have not struggled for goals this season, but defensively they have been a shambles at times. Rovers have won just one of their last 11 games, a 3-1 win over Stoke City at Ewood Park on 10th February and in those 11 games, they have been beaten seven times, drawing three. Sammy Szmodics has been their one shining light this season with the talented winger scoring 18 league goals, the most in the division and he has also added three assists to that total. He will be the main threat to Cardiff City in this game, but the Bluebirds will note that Blackburn;s defensive record away from home has seen them concede 32 goals, only Rotherham have conceded more in the division this season. Rovers can point to a 1-0 win over Cardiff at Ewood Park earlier in the season thanks to Joe Rankin-Costello's second half strike.
