Cape Verde will be eyeing a second straight win at the 2021 AFCON when they take on Burkina Faso on Match Day 2 in Group A. Going to the game, Cape Verde have three points from their opening 1-0 win over Ethiopia while Burkina Faso have no points, having lost 2-1 to Cameroon. The win over Ethiopia means Cape Verde are unbeaten in five matches, with four wins, and that was their second clean sheet in five matches. In the last nine matches, Burkina Faso have only lost one game, and that was against Cameroon in the opening game of 2021 AFCON. Cape Verde had however beaten them four times in six matches already. Burkina Faso’s only win in their last five matches was against Gabon in a warm up game ahead of this fixture. They go to this game with three draws in their last five matches and as they return to the competition, having missed the 2019 edition, they’ll be hungry for a win.
