Cape Verde Isl. vs Botswana Prediction & Betting Tips - AFCON

Cape Verde will continue their AFCON qualification campaign on Thursday evening against Botswana at the Estadio da Varzea. The Blue Sharks are second in Group C with three points while the Zebras bring up the rear of the table without a positive result yet. Here is our match prediction. 

A brace by Ryan Mendes from their only two shots on goal would see Cape Verde record a 2-0 win against Mauritania to earn them the first win of their qualification campaign following an opening-round defeat to Egypt. 

With that result, the Blue Sharks have now recorded four wins out of their last six matches with their only losses during that time coming against African giants Cameroon the Pharaohs. 

However, at home, the Creoles have won their last four consecutive matches while managing to keep a clean sheet in each across all competitions.

Meanwhile, the Zebras suffered a 4-0 dismantling at the hands of Egypt last time out, which came just three days after they slumped to a 1-0 defeat to Mauritania. 

Botswana have now lost four consecutive matches and conceded nine goals in that time, while only finding the back of the net in a single instance. 

That similar line of form is apparent when the Zebras are on the road, with just one win in their last 10 away matches, during which they only managed to find the back of the net four times.
