Cape Town City vs Moroka Swallows Prediction & Betting Tips - Premier Soccer League
by Daniel Ngulu | in Premier Soccer League Predictions
Newly promoted Premier Soccer League (PSL) side Moroka Swallows are staying put in the top three and hope to cling on after their away match against Cape Town City FC. Hosts Cape Town have so far garnered 23 points and are seventh in the league standings while Swallows are third with 29 points. Cape Town are coming from two straight losses and will hope to get back to winning ways as they face one of the two remaining unbeaten sides. They suffered a 2-1 loss to second placed SuperSport United in their last game, handing them their sixth loss in 16 matches. While Cape Town are the league’s best scoring side (27), they have also conceded the most goals (25). They head to this game with two clean sheets in their last 15 matches and winless in three straight league matches. At home, they however have a good run, with three wins in their last five matches there and scoring two or more goals in four.
Swallows, on the other hand have the mantle of the team with the most draws in the league. They’re one of the two unbeaten teams in the league but eight of their 15 matches have ended in draws. The team has not been very prolific in attack; going to the game, they are the team with the least goals (18) in the top seven. However, they have the second best defence in the league, having conceded nine goals. With a game in hand, they will be targeting a win to see a rise to second place. To do that though they will have to break a run of four straight draws in the league, and having managed just one clean sheet in the process. In two of their last three matches, Swallows have risen from down to get draws. They haven’t scored more than a goal in the last six matches, and have only done so in four of their 15 league matches.

Our Cape Town City vs Moroka Swallows Prediction
Swallows are draw specialists in the league but that has more to do with a lack of goals in the team. For a side that is just promoted, they’ve done well so far but it will be different here meeting a very attacking side. Cape Town have scored two or more in four of their last five home matches, while Swallows have not scored more than a goal in the last six league matches. With Cape Town’s defence, we don’t see a clean sheet for the hosts but a 2-1 win could pass.
