Cameroon vs Libya Prediction & Betting Tips - World Cup

A crucial sixth-round matchup in the CAF World Cup qualifiers will see Cameroon take on Libya at Stade Omnisport Ahmadou Ahidjo on Tuesday evening. The Indomitable Lions are second in the Group D standings, while the Mediterranean Knights are one behind them in third place. Let’s get into the match prediction.

Cameroon are looking to make it to back-to-back World Cups, and are having a solid qualification campaign, still unbeaten after their first five games with two wins and three draws. 

However, the Indomitable Lions will be very disappointed with their performance last week when they played out a goalless draw against minnows Eswatini, which saw them drop out of the lead in the group. 

The hosts have an excellent home record in World Cup qualifying matches with four wins in their last five games. The exception was a loss to Algeria in March 2022 and that is the only defeat they have suffered in this competition since the turn of the century.

Meanwhile, Libya are hoping that this will finally be the year that they qualify for their first World Cup, and they are making a proper run at it, currently just two points off group leaders Cape Verde. 

The Mediterranean Knights played to a 1-1 draw at home against Angola last week, taking their record to two wins, two draws and one loss. A win here will move them into the top two places. 

However, the visitors have not fared well on the road in this competition over the years, losing three of their last four matches, while only winning two in eight since October 2016.
