Relegation-threatened Cagliari will be desperate to ride on their home form as they play a travel-weary Torino. This Serie A match will be played at the Sardegna Arena on Friday. The hosts are 17th after 21 rounds with 18 points while the visitors are 10th with 28 points but with a game in hand. Cagliari are only a point above the bottom-three but with teams from 15th to 19th separated by just three points, there’s so much to gain or lose. They are coming off a 3-1 loss to Frosinone but crucially that was just their only loss in four league games. The news is much better at this venue, which has proven to be a mini-fortress of late. Cagliari are unbeaten across their last six league games here, winning four and drawing two.

Torino are only five points behind top-five teams but on current form, that is looking a difficult bridge to gap. They are coming off a goalless draw against Genoa, making it just three wins across their last nine league games. Crucially though, four of those have ended in draws with only defeats against Bologna and Fiorentina. They have been one of the misers of the league, conceding only 18 goals. However, with only 18 goals to their name, they have found the going tough at the other end. That’s more evident on the travels as Torino have failed to score in their last four away league games. To go with that, they have failed to win their last five away league games and will need a big effort to change that.
