A relegation six-pointer is on the cards this weekend in the Serie A when Cagliari host Empoli on Saturday. The two teams are just one point apart coming into this match with Cagliari in 18th having the advantage over 19th-placed Empoli. Cagliari can move out of the relegation zone if they can secure only their fourth win of the campaign. As they are unbeaten in their last four matches at home, Claudio Ranieri’s men will be confident of getting the job done here. All of their three victories have come at home and in this four-game unbeaten stretch. Cagliari however arrive for this match having lost their last two games. Both matches have come away from home. The Islanders were defeated 2-0 by Verona in their last outing.

Empoli can also climb out of the relegation zone if they can secure a win here. Aurelio Andreazzoli’s men have also won just three of their 17 games with another three ending in a share of the spoils. Two of those victories have come away from home which should have them confident coming into this match. The Blues however haven’t gotten on the win column for five games now and have lost three times in this stretch. Two of those defeats have come in back-to-back outings with the most recent ending 2-0 at home against Lazio. Empoli haven’t lost in four meetings with Cagliari, winning twice with one of those victories coming the last time they were in Cagliari.
