AC Milan top Serie A by three points but might only be second when this game against 16th placed Cagliari is played on Monday. A win for Inter over Juventus on Sunday will take them to the top but that's a game Milan would love to see end in a draw. The current league leaders have had a couple of games against Torino this week. They kicked off with a 2-0 home win over them in Serie A and then beat them on penalties (again at home) in the Italian Cup, after a goalless draw. The two clean sheets would have been good news for Milan after the recent 3-1 home loss to Juventus. That's their only loss in the last 29 league games they have played with four of the last five being won. Away form has seen Milan yet to lose in the league this season. Seven out of eight have been won, with only Genoa denying them a 100% record. Milan aren't just unbeaten in their last 15 away league matches (12 of which have been won) but they have scored at least twice in each of their last 14. They are unbeaten in their last three league visits to Cagliari, with two wins and a draw.

Cagliari are struggling down at the wrong end of the table. They begin the weekend just two places and two points above the relegation zone. They could drop into that by the time this game is played, though it's unlikely with Genoa away at in-form Atalanta. Even so, they are in trouble and will need a big improvement in form to get anything from this game. Each of their last four league games has been lost with ten goals conceded. They have been getting close to ending this disastrous run. Cagliari led at home to Benevento and only conceded a goal 18 minutes from time at Fiorentina last weekend. Midweek saw them lose 3-1 at Atalanta in the Italian Cup and now they face another tough task. Home form saw them win two of their first three league games this season. However, since then they have drawn two and lost three. Another loss is on the cards here, go for Milan to get the away victory.
