Burnley vs Wolves Prediction & Betting Tips - Premier League
by Daniel Ngulu | in Premier League Predictions
Wolverhampton Wanderers pulled one of the biggest surprises in the last round of matches, coming from down to beat Chelsea. Now they have another tricky clash, in their visit to Turf Moor to take on Burnley. Ahead of this game, 10 points separate the two sides; Burnley in 17th with 10 points and Wolves are placed 10th with 20 points. Hosts Burnley are improving, after their poor start to the season and having gone three matches unbeaten, they will feel confident enough to go for another haul of three points. They are playing at home and should have no reason not to target three points. The hosts have kept clean sheets in their last two matches and three in the last five ahead of this game though they have failed to score in two of the five. In their last 12 matches, Burnley have failed to score in eight and have just one win and one clean sheet in five matches at home. Their last 15 home league matches have produced only four wins. While they have been among the season’s underperformers, at some point they have gotten their strategy right; they have conceded more than one goal in just one of their last five home matches in the league. With just six goals in the season, Burnley have had the lowest returns in attack in the league but defensively they are the second best among teams in the bottom 12. As a result of their low scoring nature, most of their matches end in under 2.5 goals, and the same has been the case in the last six meetings with Wolves. Four of their last six meetings with Wolves also ended in draws.
Just like Burnley, Wolverhampton Wanderers have two wins in their last five matches. Their win over Chelsea marked the sixth league win for the side this season, but they have no clean sheet in the last six matches. They have scored in seven of their last 10 matches and conceded two or more goals in just one of the 10 – that was in the 4-0 loss to Liverpool. The team is still going to miss Mexican forward Raul Jimenez, who suffered a head injury four Match Days ago as they beat Arsenal. The severity of the injury is such that the team is already looking around for a replacement in the January transfer window and Liverpool’s Divock Origi has been tipped to make the move. In Jimenez’s absence, Pedro Neto and Daniel Podence have done the job for Wolves, with five goals in the last five matches. The two were on the score sheet in the 2-1 comeback win over Chelsea, Neto scoring the winner – his third goal in five matches after Podence had equalized, with his second goal in five games. Jimenez will particularly be missed for his form against Burnley – the Mexican has scored in three of the last four matches against Burnley. Away from home it has not been very rosy though. In their last six away matches, Wolves have three losses and three wins. Three of their last five away matches have produced over 2.5 goals and they have failed to score in their three away losses in the league.

Our Burnley vs Wolves Prediction
Burnely are slowly getting their way out of the relegation region and after going three matches unbeaten, they will look at this as a game they can take points from. Going to this game, they are the shiest in front of goal, having netted just six times in the league. They have kept the number of goals conceded on a low too and are still expected to defend deep as they’ve done in earlier games. On the other hand, Wolves have not banked a lot of points away from home, while they will also be without a key man for this game, Raul Jimenez. They haven’t been conceding a lot in their recent matches, save for the loss to Liverpool, and this places this game as favorite for a low scoring affair. Looking at their away form, a draw seems very likely here.
