Burnley’s search for a first point in the Premier League campaign will see them host the high-flying Tottenham this weekend. This match to be played at Turf Moor on Saturday will see the hosts 18th with zero points from two matches and the visitors 3rd with seven points from three games. Burnley found life back in the top-flight tough to handle, collapsing to back-to-back defeats. They lost 3-0 to Manchester City and then were beaten 3-1 by Aston Villa. Both games were played at this venue and it gives them a chance to give something to their fans to cheer about. The Clarets have found some respite during the midweek winning 1-0 against Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup. Four defeats across their last five matches against Tottenham in all competitions doesn’t augur well though, as the hosts plot to end their barren spell.

Tottenham are flying high in the league campaign under new coach Ange Postecoglou, winning seven out of the nine points available. They started with a 2-2 draw against Brentford but quickly regrouped to post consecutive wins. They defeated Man United 2-0 before getting past Bournemouth with the same score. The mood in the camp though, was dampened a bit with the midweek exit in the Carabao Cup. A much-rotated Spurs side crashed to a loss via penalties against Fulham in the Cup during midweek, although the focus would be on improving in the league. After consecutive clean sheets in the league, Tottenham have a chance to make it three in a row for the first time since May 2022. Having scored two goals in their last two away league matches this season, Tottenham will be looking to extend their winning run with another high-scoring game.
