Burnley vs Stoke Prediction & Betting Tips - Championship

Burnley will be out to extend their unbeaten run in the Championship when they face Stoke City at Turf Moor on New Year’s Day. The Clarets are third in the league standings while the Potters are 18th after 24 games. Check out our match prediction below. 

Burnley signed off 2024 with a goalless draw away to fellow promotion rivals Middlesbrough which took them to 48 points, three behind league leaders Leeds United.

That result also brought up the Clarets’ 11th consecutive league game without defeat - a period during which they also maintained a very impressive eight clean sheets and conceded only three goals. 

The hosts are still unbeaten after 11 home games this term (W6 D5 L0), and have not lost to their upcoming opponents in their last six encounters dating back to December 2016. 

Meanwhile, Stoke City's last match ended in a much-needed 1-0 victory at home against Sunderland which ended a nine-match winless run since the start of November. 

The victory took the Potters to 25 points, four clear of the drop, though they are certainly not out of the woods, as they’ve played a game more than the bottom three sides in the division. 

The visitors are on a three-match losing streak on the road and winless in four. They have conceded two or more goals in each of those defeats and failed to score in five of their last nine away games.
