Burnley vs Southampton Prediction & Betting Tips - Premier League

Burnley are 18th in the Premier League and desperately need a home win against Southampton who are 12th. After the weekend fixtures, Burnley are three points behind 17th placed Everton and played a game more. Everton host Leicester the day before this match, so the worst case scenario is Burnley being six points from safety. They will hope for an Everton loss and if that does happen, a win over Southampton will take them out of the bottom three. It'll be interesting to hear the reaction of the Burnley crowd. Sacking the popular Sean Dyche was a shock and if Burnley go behind in this game, it could turn nasty. Burnley drew at West Ham on Sunday but a missed penalty may haunt them. They have only won four league games this season and three of those have come at home. Just 13 home league goals have been scored but only 20 conceded. 10 out of 15 home Premier League games have had under 2.5 goals scored in them. Fans were probably shocked when the last home game saw Burnley beat Everton 3-2, twice coming from behind. They had failed to score in their three previous home league matches. Only two of their last ten home fixures have been won. Four of their final seven matches are at home, so they need to start getting wins.

Southampton are still in with a chance of a top ten finish this season. They had just one point from their last five in the Premier League before beating Arsenal 1-0 at home on Saturday. The Saints have only won three away league matches this season and only scored 17 goals. Their most recent away league game was a 1-1 draw at Leeds United. Southampton remain an inconsistent side and haven't kept an away clean sheet in their last ten away Premier League games. Burnley have to get something from this game and this is a good chance to get at least a draw. They still struggle for goals though and the recommended bet here is on under 2.5 goals to be scored.
