Burnley will feel they deserved more from their loss to Leeds United on Monday but now they have to fix their focus on Sheffield United, who come next, in the first of three straight home matches. The loss to Leeds left Burnley 17th in the standings with 13 points, 11 ahead of Sheffield United who have so far managed just two points. Patrick Bamford scored a fifth minute penalty to deny Burnley a fifth straight undefeated outing and a chance to pull further away from the relegation zone. They have two wins and two draws in their last five matches and here, playing the weakest side in the league, they have that chance again. Both these sides have low scoring attacks as the main concerns; they are the two lowest scoring sides, having netted just eight goals each. Chris Wood has been the top performer in attack for Burnley, with three goals so far and will be hoping to extend that in this game. In four of the latest five games, Sheffield have conceded in the last 10 minutes. Still, the team has not done well in defence overall, keeping no clean sheet in their last 16 matches, and head to this game having conceded two or more goals in three of the last five matches. Sheffield gave a big fight in their last game, against Everton, but still lost 1-0 through another late concession and they will still have John Lundstram suspended for the Burnley visit. Poor returns in attack is to blame for most of Sheffield United’s issues; they have failed to score in seven of their last 14 matches and have scored twice in just one of their 16 matches this season. Sheffield have no win in 13 away matches in the league and this season, they have already lost six of their seven away league matches.
